It seems like the British royal family is having some major overhaul at the start of the new decade. Aside from internal adjustments brought on by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step back from their duties as senior royals, the iconic Buckingham Palace is also set to undergo a massive renovation.
The project is reportedly worth a whopping $479 million, and Queen Elizabeth II is looking for a planner to help the team.
In a job listing, it is said that the perfect candidate should already have experience in handling construction projects of historic buildings. Aside from that, the future planner should have great communication skills and must be digitally savvy.
Part of the planner’s job is to support the project’s strategic planner and communicate between the Program Management Office and all the contractors and consultants involved in the renovation project.

The chosen aspirant will work for 37-and-a-half hours for 5 days a week and will be given full benefits and an annual salary of $49,400, depending on the person’s experience.
The new hire should be ready for the possibility of a long project commitment as this renovation is expected to be completed in about a decade. So as not to hinder the activities of the Queen and the royal family, the renovation of the 775-room palace will be done in phases and will take on one wing at a time.
Official events like the yearly Trooping the Colour will still be held in Buckingham Palace. The Queen also offered to have Princess Beatrice’s reception at the palace. The Queen’s 31-year-old granddaughter is set to marry businessman Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on May 29, 2020.
This will be the first time the Buckingham Palace will experience a major overhaul since the 1950s. The renovation will tackle the plumbing, heating, electrical cables, and front facade of the building.
