There are things Jay-Z does that leaves his fans wondering if he is arrogant or he simply wants to show off. The rapper may not tell us everything he does to help to help the poor in different parts of the world but when he said his life is all about charity, some people thought he was just saying it for the sake of wooing his fans.
But the truth is that Jay has shown that he has a big heart when it comes to charity by making generous donations through his Shawn Carter Foundation. In 2008, Jay launched a trust fund for the family of an unarmed man who was killed a day after he got married. The family was awarded an undisclosed amount of money. His foundation also takes care of disadvantaged communities and offers scholarship opportunities to children.
He partnered with Global Citizen to end extreme poverty in some parts of the world. Jay worked with Roc Nation to raise funds for people suffering from HIV and AIDS. He has teamed with the United Nations for the Water for Life initiative to provide water to many communities.
Most of his donations have made front-page news on tabloids despite his effort to keep the act private. Yet, he doesn’t feel he has done enough with his wealth in supporting charity organizations around the world.
